Data Collection

What We Collect:

  • • Daily sentiment responses (1-5 scale for three questions)
  • • Team assignment and workspace information

What We Don't Collect:

  • • Message content from your Slack workspace
  • • Personal conversations or private communications
  • • Data from channels AverageDay isn't explicitly added to
  • • Any information that could identify individual responses

Anonymity Guarantee

How We Ensure Anonymity:

  • • Individual responses are never shown to anyone, including admins
  • • Team data only appears when 3+ members submit responses
  • • Responses are stored with anonymous identifiers, not user names
  • • Raw data is aggregated before any reporting or display

Technical Implementation: Each daily report gets a unique, anonymous ID. Your Slack identity is never directly linked to your responses in our analytics system.

Data Storage & Security

Security Measures:

  • • Regular security audits and penetration testing
  • • Access logging and monitoring
  • • Minimal data retention periods

Data Location:

Data is stored on secure servers in the United States using industry-standard cloud infrastructure providers with comprehensive security certifications.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We Never Share:

  • • Team-specific data outside your organization
  • • Personal information with advertisers
  • • Data for any purpose other than providing AverageDay services

Limited Sharing:

  • • Aggregated, anonymized trends for product improvement (no team identification)
  • • Data required by law enforcement with proper legal process
  • • Technical service providers under strict confidentiality agreements

Your Rights & Control

You Can:

  • • Request deletion of all your data at any time
  • • Export aggregated team data (where you're an admin)
  • • Opt out of data collection by removing AverageDay
  • • Contact us with privacy questions or concerns

Data Retention:

• Individual responses: Anonymized after 30 days
• Aggregated team data: Retained for historical reporting
• Account data: Deleted within 30 days of account closure
